Hi all, I know it's been a while since I published something under my own name, other than something I'd ghost-written, but... here's something I've been sitting on for a while; a neat little short story set in the universe of Symphony of War, featuring a character who's bound to show up in the upcoming sequel! It's called "Iron Lazarus" and it's available from Amazon, Google Play, and basically everywhere... and best of all, it's just 99c! Hope you guys enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. ----- Kwame Bahati donated his body to science. Pieces of him were removed for this and that; his kidneys were used to test a new medicine, his torso for training surgeons, and various other organs were designated as transplants for those who refused synthetic body parts for religious reasons. But his brain was sent to somewhere else entirely. A short story set in the Universe of War, twenty four years before the events of Symphony of War: The Polema Campaign. |
The Immortals: Southport now available!
Hi guys, The latest book in the The Immortals novella-length spinoff series from Symphony of War is now available, which is... dum dum dum! The Immortals: Southport. Southport is available at: And on various subscription services such as Scribd. Thanks for reading guys, and I hope you enjoy reading this one as much as I enjoyed writing it. -- Almost ten thousand ships come into Southport, the largest spaceport in the Colonies, every single day. Nestled in amongst those legitimate shipments are hijacked ships, people smugglers, contraband, drugs, and worse. The Immortals are sent to look for the worst. Hostile, alien creatures which consume everything in their path. If they make landfall on Polema, the devastation they may cause is unfathomable. Nicholas Caddy is assigned a straightforward task: prevent Polema from being infested by the Myriad at all costs. Part three of The Immortals series set in the Universe of War, thirteen years before the events of Symphony of War: The Polema Campaign. |

Lacuna: The Requiem of Steel released!
Hi all, It is with great pleasure (and a considerable amount of sadness) that I announce that the finale of the Lacuna series, "The Requiem of Steel", is now available for preorder HERE. This work represents the end of the series that got me started in writing, all the way back in 2011, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth and electricity a scary myth. It seems like so long ago. I had no real idea where the story was going. What the plot seeds I was planting would grow into. I barely understood what I was getting into and how this series would grow. I want to take this opportunity to thank you all, in a very genuine, sincere way. If you're reading this, you've changed my life, and I can't possibly find a way to thank you. Thank you for staying with me all these years. Thank you for reading my work. Thank you for supporting me as I followed my dream. Thank you. I'm 32 years old and I have so many more stories left to tell. The Lacuna series is ending, and while it's tempting to say that I'm closing the door on the series that gave me my big break, I can't promise anything. Even if I could I am terrible at keeping my promises. Doubly so when it comes to writing commitments. This may not be the end of the Lacunaverse, but sufficient enough to say, it's the end for now. Magnet will continue to exist, and I have more ideas for him, so... stay tuned for that. I also have another instalment of Symphony of War coming, the Eris Campaign, and a few other things too. I have more stories than I have time to write. So while one door is closing, many more are opening up. Once again, thank you. Without all of you none of this would have been possible. I sincerely hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I, with great hesitation and joy, enjoyed writing it. Stay tuned. I'm just getting started. Cheers, David Adams |
The Immortals: Anchorage now available!
Heya all, My new novella, The Immortals: Anchorage is now available on Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I78EFOS/?tag=wwwlacunavers-20 Previously published in Dark Beyond The Stars: A Planet Too Far, this novella is set in the universe of Symphony of War and follows Nicholas Caddy as he embarks on his first mission with the Synapse Foundation, sent to investigate a passenger ship which has gone eerily silent... I hope you all enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it! Cheers, Dave. ----- Ever since the Founding, Colonial settlers whispered of ghost ships; silent, empty vessels drifting between the stars, steel tombs for their crew. Ships that set out from Earth and, for whatever reason, never made it to the stars. The causes were innumerable. A leaking reactor. A pathogen. An unstable passenger who took a knife and obeyed the voices in her head. Or worse. Recruited into the mysterious Synapse Foundation, Nicholas Caddy—still bearing the scars of an interstellar war—is dispatched on his first mission with the Immortals. A passenger liner, the Anchorage, has gone silent. Their task is simple: find the ship, salvage what they can, report what happened. Simple. Simple. Part two of The Immortals series set in the Universe of War, thirteen years before the events of Symphony of War: The Polema Campaign. |
